The Department of Information Technology, Since its inception in 1999,has been well recognized for producing efficient professionals with outstanding academic performance. Our aim is to provide quality education to the students and impart IT excellence in them. Apart from making them good technocrats, we also provide individual attention to make them good citizens of our nation to serve the industry and society constructively

The department always strives to reach the latest technology and advancement in this field to the young learners as well as aspirants by inviting the corporate legends and experienced academicians to enlighten the IT community of our institution.
Teaching Learning Process :
The teaching and learning process of our department is ISO9001 certified and also accredited by the National Board of Accreditation in the year 2007-2008.
The Department regularly organizes National level technical Conference “NCRACIT” to create platform for the exposure and sharing of the Knowledge of the academicians, researchers, Industry professionals and learners of various colleges, the research institutions and industries. We encourage our facilities to attend the faculty Development programs sponsored by AICTE-ISTE and Anna University based on curriculam and the recent trends in IT Industries. Periodic guest lectures and workshops are conducted for the students to supplement their curriculam. The Department has produced University Ranks in Anna University.

Research Activities:
- The Department has identified the key research areas as Digital Communication, Networking, VLSI, Data Warehousing & Mining, Network Security, Embedded Systems, Image Processing and Software Engineering.
- Faculty members are encouraged to participate in the faculty Development Programs, Workshops and seminars arranged by other institutions and leading software Industries to enrich their domain knowledge in their area of interest.
- Faculty members are also encouraged to undertake AICTE, DST funded projects.
- All final year students are specifically motivated to undertake the research projects and publish their research papers in National, International Conferences & Journals.
